How Much Does House Cleaning Cost in Lancaster County, PA?

Short answer: In Lancaster County, recurring house cleaning generally starts around $90 per visit for a small home and rises with size, number of bathrooms and how often you book. A one-off deep clean typically costs two to three times a recurring visit, and a move-out clean is usually priced somewhere between the two.

What actually drives the price

Not square footage alone, which is what most people expect. Bathrooms are the single biggest factor after size — a bathroom takes roughly as long as two bedrooms. After that: pets, because of hair and the extra vacuuming; general condition, because a home that has been maintained cleans far faster than one that has not; and frequency, because the more often we come, the less there is to catch up on each time.

Why frequency lowers the per-visit price

A weekly clean is cheaper per visit than a monthly one, which surprises people. A house cleaned weekly never really gets dirty, so each visit is genuinely maintenance. A house cleaned monthly accumulates four weeks of buildup, and every visit is partly catch-up. The monthly total is lower; the per-visit price is not.

Hourly vs per-job pricing

Hourly pricing sounds fairer and usually is not, because the risk sits with you: a slow day costs you money. We quote per job, so the figure you are told is the figure you pay. The only thing that changes it is you asking for extra work. If a company will only quote hourly, ask them for an estimated total — and be wary if they will not give one.

What a deep clean costs and why

A first or annual deep clean is priced per job and typically runs two to three times a recurring visit, because it is genuinely a different job: grout, inside the oven and refrigerator, baseboards, window tracks, light fixtures, behind and under furniture. Four to eight hours is normal, sometimes more.

Move-out cleans

A move-out clean is quoted on the size of the property and its condition. It is worth putting next to the number you stand to lose: deposit deductions for cleaning routinely exceed the cost of having it done properly, and the items landlords check — oven, refrigerator, inside cabinets, limescale, window tracks — are exactly the ones people run out of time for.

How to compare quotes fairly

Get everything in writing, and check three things: whether supplies and equipment are included, whether it is the same person each visit, and whether the quote is fixed or an estimate that can move. A cheap quote that turns into an hourly bill, with a different cleaner every fortnight, is not cheaper.

Frequently asked questions

Is $90 realistic for a house clean?

As a starting point for a smaller home on a recurring schedule, yes. A larger home with three or more bathrooms will be more, and a first deep clean will be more again.

Do you charge extra for pets?

Not as a surcharge, but pets do affect the quote because of the additional vacuuming and hair removal involved. It is factored in when we price the job.

Are cleaning supplies included?

Yes, in the price. If you would prefer we use your own products because of allergies or a particular surface, we will.

Do I pay per visit or monthly?

Per visit, after the work is done. Cash, check or Zelle.
